Cricket – St John’s Junior T20 Tournament

Saturday, 25 October – St John’s College

Peterhouse produced an outstanding performance at the annual St John’s College Junior T20 Tournament, securing six wins from nine matches and claiming the U15A title. All age groups competed strongly in their playoff rounds.


U15A – Tournament Champions

The U15A team went unbeaten to lift the trophy in style.

Key Performers:

  • Simbarashe Mandivenga – 58* vs St George’s
  • Patrick Mostert – 64 vs Hellenic, 3/18 in the final
  • Dylan Moyo – 45 in the final vs Falcon

Final:
Peterhouse 154/7 (Moyo 45, Mandivenga 34)
Falcon 138/7 (Mostert 3/18)
Result: Peterhouse won by 16 runs


U14A – Third Place Finish

A superb effort saw the U14A team finish third overall.

  • Tanatswa Nyamhuri shone with a magnificent 122 not out vs St George’s, earning All-Rounder of the Tournament.
  • Paul Hosack starred with the ball, taking 4/21 in the playoff win.

Results Summary:

  • vs St George’s – Peterhouse 236/6, St George’s 86/7 → Won by 150 runs
  • vs Hellenic – Lost by 6 wickets
  • 3rd Place Playoff vs St John’s – Peterhouse 144/7, St John’s 138/7 → Won by 6 runs

U16A – Fighting Spirit

The U16A side displayed resilience throughout the tournament.

After narrow defeats to St George’s and Hellenic, they bounced back in the 5th Place Playoff, chasing down 101 to beat St John’s by two wickets.

Final Standing: 5th Place

Swimming – Mutare Sprint Gala

Peterhouse swimmers achieved fantastic results at the recent gala, recording numerous personal bests and medals.

Callum Chisholm – 8 events

  • 4 Gold Medals (50m Fly, 100m Fly, 100m Free, 50m Free)
  • 2 Bronze Medals (50m Back, 50m Breast)
  • 4 new personal bests

Jude Moss – 8 events

  • 2 Silver Medals (50m & 100m Backstroke)
  • 1 Bronze Medal (100m Freestyle)
  • 5 new personal bests

Tyler Moss – 8 events

  • 8 new personal bests
  • Finished 4th in 200m IM

Triathlon – Mount Pleasant Selection Race

Sunday, 26 October

Peterhouse athletes represented the school with distinction at the second selection race of the season.

  • Aden Collett – 4th out of 9 (Sprint Selection, 1h 20m)
  • Ashton Willcock – 1st in Trifit Race (45m 45s)
  • Tawonanyasha Sithole – 3rd in Trifit Race

Water Polo – U14 Hammond Trophy

The U14 boys competed strongly at the Hammond Trophy, which also served as trials for the Zimbabwe U14 team.

  • vs Falcon – Won 8–4
  • vs St George’s – Won 14–4
  • Semi-Final vs St John’s – Lost 4–12
  • 3rd/4th Playoff vs CBC – Won 13–6

Interact Club – Community Impact

At the Nyaradzo Group Golf Tournament held at Marondera Golf Club on 25 October, Peterhouse Interact was the main beneficiary.

Petrean Nigel Mataranyika generously pledged $1,000 towards supporting the needy in the community.
