The Headmaster
A warm welcome to the Springvale House Website.
Springvale House is situated out in the country 80kms east of the capital, Harare, on the Mutare Road. Our grounds are covered in beautiful msasas and rocky outcrops, making it a haven for young children as they grow up. Our school serves as the preparatory school for the Peterhouse Group.
We are a weekly boarding and day scholar school, catering for both boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 12 years. The school shares the same grounds and facilities as Peterhouse Girls School (on an estate of some 1200 acres).
As our mission statement indicates, we are child’ orientated in our approach and cater for each and every child’s needs, thus ensuring their true potential is fulfilled.

The Board of Governors meets formally on a biannual basis to receive reports from the Rector and the Business Director. The BoG has specific responsibility for the appointment of the Rector and the Business Director. The BoG takes a general interest in the development of Peterhouse.

The Executive Committee meets once each term to receive reports from the Rector, the HMPHG, the HMSVH, the Chairman of BESTCO and the Chairman of EXCO. EXCO has authority over the other two sub-committees although it is usually the case that EXCO acts on the recommendation of these committees together with the school’s Top Management Team (i.e. the Rector, the HMPHG, the HMSVH and the Business Director).
