DEBATE
Vs Watershed

  • Juniors won 71%- 62%. Bernice Mfula was the best speaker with 74%. Elainah Berejena was the runner up with 71%.
  • Intermediates won 69%-58%. Amani Dengwani was the best speaker with 75%.
  • Seniors won 62%-59%. Tayamika Mandiwanzira was 2nd best speaker with 73%.

ATS Senior debate results

Five of our girls participated in the ATS Senior Debate Tournament at Westridge. The girls achieved the following speaker positions

  • Tayamika Mandiwanzira was placed 20th out of 100 speakers
  • Leona Marimira was placed 25th out of 100 speakers
  • Ruvimbo Kaukonde was placed 35th out of 100
  • The girls won 2 out of 5 rounds
  • PHG came 11th out of 20 schools

MUN
ZIMUN XI conference

From the 6th of March to the 8th, 13 girls from the MUN club participated in intense, thought-provoking debates, revolving around a plethora of current ongoing global issues and current affairs, across 8 different rooms at the Zimbabwe MUN (ZIMUN) held at HIS. The debates were intense in some room with delegates being expelled. On the last day of the conference, a Joint Crisis Committee was held, in which all our delegates came together to come up with and critique solutions to the ongoing M23 – DRC conflict. At the closing ceremony, awards were given out. Ayana Mugweni was awarded Best Position paper of the conference.
Overall, the conference was a great showcase of the outstanding research, critical thinking and debating skills possessed by our delegates.

  • Juniors Alyssa Zindi came 1st out of 3 speakers with 77%
  • Intermediates Theophilus Kunaka came 1st out of 3 speakers with 81.3%
  • Seniors Shania Jin came 3rd out of 3 speakers with 82%
  • Overall PHG came first out of three schools with 80%

2025 Edition of the Zimbabwe Science Fair (ZSF)

The following girls received special awards for their exceptional achievements:

  • Gigi Nyambirai and Tayamika Mandiwanzira: Young Scientist of Africa (YoSA) Scholarship Nomination Award to attend the 2025 London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF) at Imperial College in London, UK
  • Tayamika Mandiwanzira: International Swiss Talent Forum Delegate Award- fully sponsored to attend the International Swiss Talent Forum (ISTF) in Switzerland in 2026
  • Gigi Nyambirai: Belt and Road Teenager Maker Camp Delegate Award
  • Gigi Nyambirai also qualified for the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair which will take place from May 10-16, 2025, where top STEM students from around the world will be gathering in Columbus, Ohio, for the world’s largest international STEM research competition for high school students.
