CHISIPITE DEBATE FORUM

Senior debate club members attended a debate forum hosted by Chisipite Senior School with four other schools in attendance.

The forum, themed “Borders Don’t Define Us”, focused on collaboration and idea sharing rather than competitive debating. Discussions centred on the causes of brain drain in Zimbabwe and ways Zimbabwe can support local talent while still giving them international opportunities.

The girls displayed excellent critical thinking skills throughout the discussions, making it a highly beneficial experience.

GAVEL

At their first Toastmasters’ meeting of the term, hosted by Hellenic, the Peterhouse Boys and Girls Gavel Clubs participated in a series of prepared and impromptu speeches.

Topics ranged from philosophical discussions about life to critiques of money as a societal influence. The session reflected the growing eloquence, confidence and maturity of speakers from all three schools.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS (MUN)

From 14th–16th May 2026, sixteen members of the Peterhouse Girls MUN delegation attended the CHIMUN Conference hosted at Chisipite Senior School.

The conference theme was:

“The Ethics of Progress: When does innovation become exploitation and cultural erasure?”

Delegates debated global issues surrounding technological development, economic growth and cultural preservation.

Congratulations to Olivia Chimberengwa, who was awarded Most Promising Delegate in her committee.

The delegation represented the school exceptionally well, and excitement is building ahead of the first-ever PHMUN conference later this term.
