Gavel
On the 19th of July Peterhouse Girls Gavel Club hosted the Annual Gavel Dinner. In attendance were members of the Peterhouse Boys Gavel Club, our patrons Ms Rinashe and Mr Banda (PHB), the Headmistress Mrs Hough, and Mrs Pashapa – PHG Director of Culture.
The guest speaker this year, was Mrs Sekai Kuvarika, the CEO of the Confederation of Zimbabwe Industries. After an ice-breaker from Akanaka Sachikonye, a topic speech by Anna Freeth and a table topic by Tadiwa Mandimutsira, all of which initiated very lively debates, our Guest Speaker spoke on the impact of social media and the idea of ‘Future fit’ in reference to us as tomorrow’s generation.
As young people about to take on the world of work and ‘adulting’, Mrs Kuvarika’s speech was both thought-provoking and inspirational, the toolkit we are going to need to remain true to ourselves in an ever-changing world.
