MODEL UNITED NATIONS
Hellenic Academy Model United Nations Conference (HAMUN) – Thursday 23 – Saturday 25 May
The main theme of the conference was:
“UN Reform In An Age of Evolving Security Challenges”.
The delegates discussed topics such as:
· Ending the Syrian Civil War,
· Deciding on the fate of both Israel and Palestine (1947) in order to allow them to coexist peacefully in contrast to the present situation,
· Adjusting the UN response to the 9/11 attacks to avoid the unsuccessful occupation of Afghanistan and to reduce the rise of global terrorism,
Attended by 15 delegates from PHB, delegates developed a better understanding of current affairs and their debating and research skills. Delegates also had the opportunity to interact with Advocate Fadzai Mahere, who was the guest speaker at the closing ceremony.
Special thanks go to Mr Chavunduka and Blessed Matsikidze for organizing the boys and ensuring their preparation for the conference.
