Horse Riding – PEC Hillcrest National Champs in Ruwa
The National Eventing Championships were held at Hillcrest Farm in Ruwa on Sunday, May 26th 2024. Eventing comprises Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country Phases. The scores of all three disciplines are tallied together to create an overall score. This is a true test of the skill and partnership of both horse and rider.
- Sienna Page won her class of 90 cm and was awarded the National Junior Champion Title
PHG Week 3A Culture Results/Reports
Debate vs Eaglesvale
- Juniors won with a score of 89% to 59%. Tadisa Ajento was the best speaker with 79%.
- Intermediates won with a score of 71% to 64%. Leona Marimira was the best speaker with 75%.
- Seniors drew with a score of 80%. Shumirai Chigadza was the best speaker with 80%.
Model United Nations (MUN)
- The girls attended the annual HAMUN at Hellenic under the theme “UN reform in an age of evolving security challenges.” The conference opened with a wonderful speech by the Secretary General, challenging delegates to seek long-lasting solutions that could impact current situations. As young minds, there are countless unexplored ideas that could make a difference in the world. The conference concluded with a motivating speech from Guest Speaker Advocate Fadzayi Mahere. The girls gained valuable insights and look forward to future conferences.
PASTIS Club
- The PASTIS club met with its partner club at Macheke High School for thought-provoking discussions. Topics included causes and solutions to drug abuse, age restriction abuses, and the pros and cons of neglecting parental advice regarding career choices. While consensus was reached on the first two topics, no consensus was reached on the last one.
Shona Drama
- The Shona club participated in music and drama competitions at Wise Owl:
- Own choice piece: 3rd place out of 4 schools with 77 points
- Set piece: 3rd place out of 4 schools with 73 points
