ARCHERY

Interschools archery was hosted at Peterhouse Boys on Sunday, 22 September. Peterhouse Boys A team placed 1st overall, and the B team was 5th out of 14 competing teams. Musa Kurenzvi, Vuso Mlambo, Kaden Hahn, Matthew Gratwicke and Christiano Uriri were 2nd, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th in the boys’ individual competition.

Interhouse Archery was held on Wednesday 25 September, at the Tinokura Range, involving 4 archers per team, and shooting a regular Bull’s-eye tournament of 3x10m and 3x15m ends. The results are as follows:

CRICKET

Peterhouse participated in the Watershed T20 tournament over the weekend and results are as follows;

  • Peterhouse – 199
  • Westridge – 14 all out
  • Peterhouse won by 185 runs.

Vs. Kyle College

  • Peterhouse – 221
  • Match was abandoned due to Bad Light.
  • Using the DLS method, Peterhouse won by 77 runs

Semi Finals

Vs. Lomagundi

  • Peterhouse – 121
  • Lomagundi – 120
  • Peterhouse won by 1 run.

Final

Vs. MCC
Peterhouse lost by 4 wickets in the last over, having posted 134 runs. Victor Watama was awarded the Batsman of the Tournament.

WATERPOLO

Peterhouse hosted the prestigious Crusaders Shield this last Friday and Saturday, which dates back to 1937, with CBC winning the shield.
Results were as follows;

  • Vs. Falcon College: Lost 16 – 14
  • Vs. CBC: Lost 15 – 7
  • Vs. St John’s: Lost 11 – 6
  • Vs. St George’s: Won 14 – 8

Peterhouse finished 5th out of 6 schools. Congratulations to Kayden Bhana, who was selected for the Zimbabwe u19 squad to travel to East London, South Africa, in December. Mr Du Rand has been selected to coach the U16 boys’ side, which travels to the same destination.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

DEBATE – Tuesday 24th September

Vs. Dominican Convent

  • Juniors: Peterhouse Boys won with 81%, to Convent’s 72%. Simbarashe Mutevhe was the Best Speaker with 85% and Victor Zinyengere was the third best speaker with 81%.
  • Seniors: Convent won with 71%, to the combined PHG and PHB Team’s 66%.

WORLD SCHOLAR’S CUP

On Monday the 23rd of September, the WSC teams from PHB and PHG convened a successful mini regional round, aimed at providing new members of the club a snippet of what happens at the actual regional round. Topics were fiercely debated revealing the depth of talent in the club. The scholars bowl tested knowledge of the theme “Reimagining the Present” where questions were asked on subjects ranging from Mathematics and History to Science and Technology.
