SPORTING ACTIVITIES
It was another busy and successful period of sport for Peterhouse Boys, with our boys representing the school across a wide range of sporting codes. There were some excellent team performances, tournament achievements and national selections to celebrate.
Archery
Peterhouse Schools Competition
Peterhouse hosted 21 school teams at the Athletics Pavilion, with Peterhouse A finishing 4th overall and Peterhouse B placing 10th.
In the individual competition, Simba Chivige finished 5th, while Robin Rottcher placed 10th.
AGA Federation Regional Tour – Botswana
Simba Chivige and Robin Rottcher were also members of the Zimbabwe national teams that travelled to Botswana in August for the AGA Federation Regional Tour.
Simba achieved a team gold medal as a member of the overall tournament-winning Zimbabwe team.
Congratulations to Simba and Robin on representing Zimbabwe and to Simba on this outstanding achievement.

Watershed U20 Boys Tournament
The U20 Basketball side competed at the Watershed College Tournament, winning two of their three pool matches to progress to the quarter-finals. Peterhouse was eliminated by St George’s in the quarter-final and finished 7th overall in a strong 16-team field.

Final vs Kearsney
Kearsney 150/6; Peterhouse 151/3 (17.5). Peterhouse won by 7 wickets.
Ndiriwashe Munatsirei 68*, Tyler Chapman 32, Isaac Allott 25; Cullum Scott-Elliot 2/23.
Ndiriwashe Munatsirei was outstanding throughout the tournament and remained unbeaten in all three knockout matches. Excellent contributions came from throughout the squad, with the bowling attack particularly impressive during the knockout stages.
Congratulations to the 1st XI and coaching staff on an outstanding tournament victory.
vs Falcon
It was an excellent set of results for our cricket teams against Falcon, highlighted by some outstanding individual performances.
U14A: Peterhouse 167/3 (Josiah Durham 76) beat Falcon 37 all out by 130 runs. Jake Labat 2/4 and Zviko Zhanda 2/3. In the second match, Falcon made 138 all out (Tayne Coetzee 6/25), before Peterhouse reached 139/7 (Beau Benning 54) to win by 3 wickets.
U14B: Falcon 46 all out (Brandon Njanji 4/3); Peterhouse 47/2. Won by 8 wickets. In the 50-over match, Peterhouse made 212 all out (Hunter Mcliwaine 66), before dismissing Falcon for 147 (Brandon Njanji 4/36) to win by 65 runs.
U15A: Falcon 121/6; Peterhouse 125/2 (Dillon Nyamhuri 79*, Daniel Williams 29*). Won by 8 wickets. In the second match, Falcon were dismissed for 109 (Hayden Linnell 3/13, Cullen Seaman 3/23), before Peterhouse reached 113/3 (Paul Hosack 50) to win by 7 wickets.
U15B: Falcon 103 all out (Murray O’Donoghue 5 wickets); Peterhouse 104/5 (Tadiwa Mautsa 47). Won by 5 wickets. In the second match, Falcon were dismissed for 80 (Murray O’Donoghue 4 wickets), before Peterhouse reached 81/5 to win by 5 wickets.
U16A: Falcon 179 (Riley Findlay 4/21); Peterhouse 183/7 (Dylan Moyo 36, Patrick Mostert 32, Simba Mandivenga 54*). Won by 3 wickets.
2nd XI: Peterhouse 175 all out; Falcon 178/8. Peterhouse lost by 2 wickets. Tinashe Kashaya scored 54, while Jake Jones took 4/34 from eight overs.
3rd XI: Falcon 145 all out; Peterhouse 59 all out. Falcon won by 86 runs.
Special mention goes to Tayne Coetzee for his outstanding figures of 6/25 and Murray O’Donoghue for his excellent five-wicket haul.
vs St John’s College

A very positive weekend for Peterhouse Cricket saw the school record seven wins from eight matches against St John’s, alongside a number of outstanding individual performances.
- U14A: Peterhouse 228 all out beat St John’s 218 all out by 10 runs. Declan Oosthuizen 75, Jake Labat 40; Jake Labat 4/27 and Logan Trataris 4/46.
- U14B: St John’s 171 all out; Peterhouse 173/1. Hunter Macliwaine 58* and Paul Leathes 53*. Won by 9 wickets.
- U15A: Peterhouse 241 beat St John’s 160 all out by 81 runs. Cullen Seaman 70, Dillon Nyamhuri 60; Luke Ballance 3/5.
- U15B: Peterhouse 108 all out beat St John’s 96 all out by 12 runs. Matipaishe Hove took an outstanding six wickets, with Nhambo Gundo taking two.
- U16A: Peterhouse 264/8 beat St John’s 211 all out by 54 runs. James Hosack 58, Carter Allberry 43; Dylan Moyo took four wickets.
- U16B: St John’s 96 all out; Peterhouse 97/9. Won by 1 wicket in a nail-biting finish.
- 2nd XI: St John’s 301 all out beat Peterhouse 281 all out by 20 runs. Tinashe Kashaya produced an outstanding 139* and also took 4/37.
- 1st XI: Peterhouse 323 all out beat St John’s 250 all out by 73 runs. Ndiriwashe Munatsirei scored 109 and Isaac Allott 108.
Congratulations to Tinashe Kashaya, Ndiriwashe Munatsirei and Isaac Allott on their centuries, and to Matipaishe Hove on his outstanding six-wicket haul.
Peterhouse Select vs Hillcrest
Peterhouse Select made 160/8, with Hillcrest finishing on 160/6 to leave the match tied.
Peterhouse then held their nerve to secure victory in the Super Over. Patrick Mostert was named Player of the Match after scoring 34 from 29 balls and returning figures of 1/12.
It was a very strong weekend overall for Peterhouse Cricket, capped by a dramatic Super Over victory.
Hockey
Super 12 Tournament 2026

Peterhouse finished 4th overall at the Super 12 Hockey Tournament following a strong run through the pool stages and knockout rounds.

Karate
Congratulations to Neil Mupita on his recent achievement in Karate. Neil successfully progressed to Yellow Belt, 7th Kyu, through the Kurai Kofukan Karate Club.
This achievement reflects his discipline, commitment and continued development in the sport.
Rowing
Training Day at Kushinga
Although the scheduled regatta did not take place, our rowers enjoyed a very successful training day at Kushinga. The session provided a valuable opportunity for the newer rowers to develop their skills and gain experience on the water.
A special thank you goes to our B and A Block boys, who demonstrated excellent leadership in helping to teach and guide the newer rowers.
In particular, we recognise Daniel Phiri, Jason Moulder, Robert Weller, Spero Landos and Tatenda Dube for the time, patience and leadership they showed throughout the day.
This was an excellent example of senior boys giving back to the sport and supporting the next generation of Peterhouse rowers.
Squash

Our C and D teams faced the Chisipite Senior A and B teams, playing nine matches and recording one victory.
Despite a difficult set of results against strong opposition, the fixtures provided valuable competitive experience for our players.
Swimming
St Ignatius Gala
Our swimmers finished a very creditable 3rd overall at the St Ignatius Gala, behind St John’s and Hellenic.

Eight teams competed in the Mash East Tennis Tournament, with Peterhouse producing two podium finishes.
Peterhouse A – 1st Place | Gold Medals

Peterhouse D – 3rd Place | Bronze Medals
Keyaan Manuel, James Hove, Michael McKinlay and Marley Rushesha.

Table Tennis
The Peterhouse 1st Team contested a closely fought fixture against Gateway, with the match finishing in a 2–2 draw.
Volleyball
MCC Championships
Our Volleyball team competed at the MCC Championships and produced a spirited performance throughout the tournament.
The boys battled hard to finish runners-up in their group before facing St George’s in the semi-final and St John’s in the 3rd/4th place playoff.
Although they narrowly missed the podium, their energy, determination and exciting style of play earned Peterhouse the tournament’s official awards for Most Exciting Team and Most Promising Team.

HIS Volleyball Festival
The 1st Team represented Peterhouse with tremendous grit and determination at the HIS Volleyball Festival.
The boys progressed to the semi-finals, where they were defeated by St George’s, before responding superbly in the 3rd/4th playoff to defeat HIS and secure the bronze medals.
It was an excellent team effort and a performance of which the boys can be proud.
Water Polo
Crusader Shield U19 Tournament
The Peterhouse 1st Team produced an excellent performance at the Crusader Shield U19 Tournament, finishing 2nd overall.

Following defeat in their opening match, the boys responded superbly with four consecutive victories, finishing the tournament on 12 points.
Zimbabwe U19 Water Polo Selections
Congratulations to Daniel Hutchings, Mitchell Duckworth and Tapfuma Taundi on their selection for the Zimbabwe U19 Boys Water Polo Team.
Jack Havercroft and Callum Moore were named as non-travelling reserves.
This is excellent recognition of their hard work and performances, and we congratulate all five boys on their national selection.
CULTURAL ACTIVITIES
Alongside a busy sporting programme, Peterhouse Boys continued to enjoy success across a wide range of cultural activities, including Model United Nations, Drama, Quiz, Public Speaking and Interact.
Model United Nations
St John’s College Conference
More than 400 delegates from Zimbabwe and Zambia participated in the St John’s College Model United Nations Conference, engaging in dialogue under the theme “The Weight of Precedent: Reconciling Historical Injustices with the Imperatives of Sustainable Development.”

Peterhouse Boys competed in the Interschools Quiz at St John’s College, with the following results:

Public Speaking
ATS Interschools’ Public Speaking
Peterhouse competed at the ATS Interschools’ Public Speaking competition, with strong performances across all three age groups.
Seniors: Shingai Shumba finished 11th out of 18 speakers with his speech, The Mirrors We Build.
Intermediates: Simbarashe Mutevhe finished 3rd out of 19 speakers with How To Be Yourself.
Juniors: Jock Pistorius finished 2nd out of 19 speakers with The Silence of Cell Phones.
Peterhouse finished 4th overall out of 19 schools.
Jock and Simbarashe were also awarded book prizes and a US$20 voucher each for their performances.

Interact
Rotary Interact District Training Workshop
Peterhouse Interact hosted 233 delegates from 12 schools for the Rotary Interact District Training Workshop.
The Rotary Club of Marondera trained and inducted the clubs in preparation for the 2027 season.
Our sincere thanks go to everyone involved in organising and supporting the event.
Visit to Musha we Vana
Members of Interact visited Musha we Vana, where library books, groceries and sweets were donated to the children.
The club also spent time playing games and praying with the children.
