MODEL UNITED NATIONS
Tour to Zambia — Martin House (19–22 June 2025)

Over Half Term, the Peterhouse MUN club had the privilege of attending the Zambia 2025 MUN conference hosted by Martin House College. Twelve schools participated in this conference. Nine boys attended.

Blessed Matsikidze and Takurira Tapfuma chaired committees whilst the other 7 boys attended as delegates. Some of the topics discussed included:

  • Addressing the Crisis in Eastern Congo: Ensuring Human Rights While Reforming Security and Policing in Conflict Zones
  • Challenging Systemic Discrimination and Gender Inequality: Promoting Human Rights and Social Justice for All

Having been the first international conference attended by the club, the delegates had the opportunity to interact with other delegates from across Zambia and Zimbabwe. Lively and thought-provoking debates were held and all the delegates contributed through their well-researched position papers and debating amendments to clauses. Overall, the conference was well-organised and it was a great success.

Kodzero Chinhara received an award for The Most Promising Delegate.
