ARCHERY
AGA TOUR TO SOUTH AFRICA
Last week, two of our girls traveled with the National Archery Team to South Africa to compete for Zimbabwe. Margaret Songore did very well, coming 3rd out of the 32 Zimbabwean Archers, and 28th out of the 168 Archers from the various countries taking part.

HOCKEY
GOLDEN GIRLS
The PHG 1st Hockey Team played in the Annual Golden Girls Hockey Tournament. They played 7 matches in all, and the results were as follows:
Vs Gateway won 3-0
Vs Lomagundi won 4-0
Vs Girls College won 3-0
Vs Heritage won 1-0
Vs Harare Convent won 5-0
Vs Chisipite won 2-0
FINAL vs Arundel won 1-0

Peterhouse Girls are the 2023 Golden Girls Trophy Winners.

BASKETBALL
1ST TEAM VS ST GEORGES
The PHG 1st Team Basketball Girls traveled to Harare to play their last League fixture, against St George’s. The result was:
Vs St George’s won 30-5

KARATE
INTERSCHOOLS
Three Peterhouse girls medaled at the recently held inter-schools Karate Competition:

In the girls 13-14 yr age group – Kata (karate demonstration only competition):

  • Lindsay Mwatahwa – Gold Medal

In the girls 13-14 yr age group – Kumite (karate fighting competition):

  • Shannon Gumbo – Silver Medal
  • Lindasy Mwatahwa – Bronze Medal

HORSE-RIDING
INTERNATIONAL PONY SHOW
Shaniya Frees rode in the FEI Dressage qualifiers which were held during the International Pony Show at the HIPEC. Her results were:
Shaniya Frees on Swift

  • 7 Nations Elementary Test – 1st
  • 7 Nations Preliminary Test – 3rd
    Shaniya qualified in both her dressage tests.

Danielle Mashumba was the Best Speaker with 83%.
Intermediates won 60%-57%
Rachael Nyamayaro was the Best Speaker with 71%.
