Wednesday 1st April
Dear Parents and Guardians
We welcome the end of the Lent Term, and with it the chance to rest after a full and productive few months. Thank you to our girls and staff for their hard work and enthusiasm throughout. Our musicians once again shone at the NIAA Eisteddfod. Many girls took part, and the Music Department staff deserve high praise for their guidance. Special thanks to Mr Milupi Imbula for his exceptional support during this busy season. We are fortunate to have musicians who so generously share their talents with the next generation.
Congratulations also to our Athletics Team, who ended their season with outstanding victories, establishing themselves as the leading school team. Their commitment and effort have certainly paid off. Our girls continue to carry the Peterhouse Girls name with pride across academics, sport, culture, and music. The achievements of this term have been remarkable. Well done to all.
Last weekend’s Tatanga camping weekend in Gosho Park was a great success, blessed with beautiful weather and strong support from parents and girls. It was a wonderful opportunity for community and connection. At this point, we also prepare to say farewell to a few valued members of staff. Ms. Mazwi Shamu is moving on to pursue business ventures, and we will miss her energy, warmth, and the care she has shown to our girls. Mr. Doug Trewartha, our IT Manager, has accepted a calling into fulltime Christian ministry. Doug has been a steady and generous support to pupils and staff alike, well beyond his IT responsibilities. His commitment has been deeply appreciated, and we send him off with our prayers for success in his ministry journey. We also extend our thanks to Mrs. Grace Katiro, who has completed her temporary role in the Science Department. Her time, knowledge, and contribution have been greatly valued.
Finally, I would like to remind our senior girls to balance rest with preparation for their mock examinations. Laying the groundwork now will certainly set them up for success next term. As we enter the Easter season, the words of Jesus feel especially timely: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” May this holiday bring you renewal, peace, and well-deserved rest.
Wishing you all a blessed and joyful Easter!
