Dear Parents and Guardians
What a positive term we have had so far, and while we are galloping towards the end, there is much to do before
we get there.
Next week marks the start of the Eisteddfod, and our musicians have worked hard to refine their performances.
We wish them and their coaches every success in the competition and encourage you to show your support
whenever possible.
Our rowers deserve congratulations for their outstanding achievements at the SA Rowing Championships. A
special thank-you goes to Mrs Kerry Zaal and Mrs Hannah Coetzee for their dedication in preparing the girls.
You can find the results in this newsletter.
With the change of seasons, afternoon sessions have now shifted to the winter programme, and preparations for
the upcoming season are well underway. A gentle reminder: all hockey players are required to wear gum guards
and shin pads. Your daughter’s safety remains our priority.
Regarding the proposed Solar Project, we’ve made significant progress, but we’re facing a minor hurdle.
Although the design was finalised in November, we are currently awaiting approval from the ZETDC Board for
a single metering point. This delay has set us back by two months and has incurred some interest on the loan
facility. Nonetheless, we remain optimistic about completing this project soon.
It is with sadness that we announce Mrs Shelley Kaschula’s resignation as Tatanga Housemistress and Maths
teacher. At the end of the term, Shelley will be leaving to spend more time with her family in Harare. We extend
our gratitude for her contributions and wish her every success in the future. At the same time, we’re delighted
to welcome Mrs Annie Robb as the new Tatanga Housemistress. Annie brings warmth, enthusiasm, and a fresh
energy to the role, and we’re excited to have her join our team.
As we approach the end of term, I kindly ask that you avoid requesting early release for your daughters.
Classroom learning continues until the very last full day, and early departures can disrupt both the syllabus
coverage and the work ethic we strive to instil in our pupils.
Finally, this season of Lent offers us an opportunity for reflection, repentance, and perhaps giving up something
we hold dear. It’s also a time to recognise our many blessings, and nothing is more precious than our families.
As we head into the final Fixture Free weekend of the term, I wish you a blessed and peaceful weekend with
your daughters.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Claire Hough
Headmistress
