Peterhouse Girls Newsletter 12 – Michaelmas 2024

Dear Parents and Guardians,

At last, we have reached the end of the term and the end of the school year. It has been a year filled with
challenges, growth, and remarkable achievements. As we reflect on it, we can take pride in the progress we
have made.
The A Block trip to West Nicholson was a resounding success. Special thanks to Francois de Kock and all the
staff who accompanied the children. It was, without a doubt, a memorable and enriching experience for
everyone involved.

As is tradition at Peterhouse, our final weekend of the year was marked by the Peterhouse Carol Service and
the Marondera Schools Concert–both very special occasions. On Tuesday, we enjoyed a Christmas Dinner
followed by Vth Form Entertainment. My thanks to all the girls and staff who made this a special final evening
together.

During the course of the term we have said farewell to a number of staff and have begun to welcome new staff
to our community for the year ahead. Special thanks and blessings go to Mrs. Ru Masawi and Ms. Nellie
Nyeke. We have been truly blessed by these two women and wish them all the very best in all they do. For
others who are leaving us, we pray for God’s guidance and protection. For those returning, we look forward to
a year full of new opportunities and challenges, and a chance to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Peterhouse.
The Lent Term for 2025 begins on Tuesday 14th January, and is set to end on Thursday 10th April. Please
plan with these dates in mind. We work in the classroom right up until the last day, and early departures do
have an impact on learning.

Our end-of-term events showcased the talents of our girls, but more importantly, they gave us a chance to dwell
on the Christmas story–a story that tells of God who sent His Son to be born in a manger, of the Creator of the
world who humbled Himself to be the child of a carpenter, and who provides a way for us to live harmoniously
with God.

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Luke 2:11
May your Christmas be filled with the joy and wonder of Jesus’ birth, and may your hearts and homes be filled
with love as you celebrate Him.

Warm regards,
Mrs Claire Hough
