FROM: THE HEADMISTRESS
Thursday 12th October 2023
Dear Parents and Guardians
It seems just the other day that we were welcoming everyone back for the beginning of the third term, and now here we are at the Half Term Weekend! It has been a full and busy time, and, without exception, the girls and staff are looking forward to a well-earned rest. Over the last fortnight, we have celebrated some wonderful achievements at the Music and Culture dinners. Our schools offer a rich and diverse cultural experience that stretch our children in so many ways. My thanks to Mr Milupi Imbula and Mrs Chipo Mtakwa for organising these special events. In the second half of the term, we will continue to celebrate our girls and all they have accomplished. Speech Day falls on Saturday 28th October for Peterhouse Girls and you are warmly invited to join us for this special occasion.
With the onset of the external examinations, the A Block, Vth and VIth Form girls are very focused and are mostly channelling their energy wisely. We must also remember that internal exams begin next week for the rest of the school, and while I hope the girls find time to relax over the next few days, they are also encouraged to engage in some productive revision. For the D Block these will be their first examinations in senior school, for C Block the focus will be on subject choices for IGCSE and for B Block this will be their first real taste of IGCSE examinations and a good indicator of future success.
Today we had 28 girls confirmed by the Bishop of Harare, the Right Reverend Dr Farai Mutamiri. It was a lovely service and encouraging to see these girls choosing to embrace the Anglican traditions and the Christian faith. As a school we will continue to encourage and walk alongside them as they grow in their
relationship with Jesus.
I hope you all have a blessed and happy weekend, and we look forward to finishing the term as strongly as we started.
Warm regards
Mrs Claire Hough
Headmistress
