FROM: THE HEADMISTRESS
Dear Parents and Guardians
The Michaelmas Term has begun with its usual energy and enthusiasm. The girls have embraced a season of
productive learning and revision, complemented by a shortened programme of sporting and cultural
activities. The spirit of Peterhouse is alive and thriving as we dive into the term with purpose.
On Monday, we hosted our annual Open Day, welcoming Grade 6 children from schools across the country.
It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the many benefits of a Peterhouse education. These events
remind us of the exceptional facilities we are privileged to have, and the continued interest in our school is
both humbling and encouraging.
Our Outdoor Education programme continues to play a pivotal role in shaping confident, resilient young
women, and in this tradition, our B Block girls embarked on their transformative journey to Chimanimani.
The experience was, as always, enriching and memorable. Special thanks to Francois de Kock and his
dedicated team for their meticulous planning and execution of this impactful excursion.
We have recently completed the process of training and selecting our new school prefects, and the Office
Bearers for 2026 have now been officially announced. I am delighted to be working alongside this talented
and enthusiastic team of young leaders; their vision for Peterhouse in the year ahead is inspiring, and the staff
look forward to guiding them as they take on this important role.
At the same time, we pay tribute to the Prefects of 2025, who have led the school with unwavering
dedication and humility. Their love for and loyalty to Peterhouse have been evident in every steady and
selfless act of service. We are deeply grateful for the positive impact they have made on our community.
This week has seen the start of the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level examinations. Our girls are well prepared
for this, but we understand that it is also a tense time with the pressure on them to do well. We stand united
with them and pray for the best. And as in years gone by, we feel very confident that they will finish
strongly.
As summer comes into its own, our campus is endowed with such beauty and we are reminded of the hope
and expectation of the coming rains, mirroring the hope we have for our futures. I wish you all a restful weekend
with your daughters.
Kind regards,
Mrs Claire Hough
Headmistress
