Sporting Activities

Peterhouse Girls enjoyed another successful and action-packed week of sport, with pupils competing in soccer, basketball, hockey and equestrian. There were strong performances across all disciplines, highlighted by an unbeaten weekend for the A League hockey teams, a thrilling one-point victory for the 1st basketball team and an outstanding display by our riders in the equestrian arena.

National Debate Tournament

Congratulations to Shiloh Deetlefs, who represented Zimbabwe at the Thistle Cup World Schools Debating Championship (WSDC).

Competing against 527 speakers from 103 national teams, Shiloh was awarded Runner-up Best Speaker, finishing as the highest-ranked Zimbabwean speaker. As a result, she is now recognised as the second-best open debater in the world for the 2026 season.

An even greater achievement came as the Zimbabwe Debate Team claimed first place, earning the title of World Champions in the World Schools Debating Circuit until the 2027 season.

Model United Nations (PHMUN 2026)

17–18 July 2026

Peterhouse proudly hosted its inaugural Model United Nations Conference (PHMUN 2026) under the theme:

“Redefining Global Security in the 21st Century.”

The conference welcomed delegates from five schools, representing countries and organisations across seven committee rooms. Throughout the weekend, delegates debated pressing global security issues while developing their diplomacy, leadership and public speaking skills.

The conference opened with an inspiring address by Ambassador Academic Vova Chikanda, distinguished Zimbabwean diplomat and Founder of the Zimbabwe Institute of Diplomacy, who shared valuable insights into diplomacy and statecraft.
