Dear Parents and Guardians,
It is with heavy hearts that we remember and pay tribute to our teaching colleague and friend, Luke Kunatsa. Luke was an exceptional educator who touched the lives of countless pupils during his time at Peterhouse. His passion for teaching and warm demeanour endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends. Luke’s memory and his legacy will forever be entwined in the fabric of Peterhouse.
After a long and busy term, we are exhausted, and girls and teachers alike are looking forward to a well-earned rest. For the senior girls, however, the rest should be short-lived. The exam preparation they do during these holidays will make an enormous difference in the months to come.
Our girls have seen the benefit of their efforts in the many successes they have experienced this term. Our Senior Soccer team and our Basketball and Hockey 1st Teams have had unbeaten seasons. Hockey and Basketball have won their leagues and the Hockey team are also the Golden Girl Champions for 2023. Well done to them all.
In the Cultural arena, we continue to leave our footprint wherever we go. Our congratulations to the girls for their accomplishments in the NIAA Speech and Drama Festival, to our choirs for their contribution to the Three Choirs Festival, and to our Debaters and Quiz girls for their pleasing results throughout the term. In the last week of term, we were treated to the school musical, “Firebringer”; our thespians put on a memorable performance of drama and song and my thanks go to Mrs Allott and Mrs Mtakwa for their efforts in the production.
This term we bid farewell to Kiara Cordy and to Junior Mistress, Sharon Marangwanda. We wish them both the very best for the future and hope they will be happy in all their endeavours.
In closing, my thanks go to you for allowing us the privilege of working with your daughter. Our school culture is driven by our belief that every person has infinite value, and as such, we commit ourselves to helping every girl understand and reach her full potential. My prayer for all our Peterhouse families is that
you will have a blessed and restful holiday and my prayer for Zimbabwe is for a fair and peaceful election process.
Warm regards,
Mrs Claire Hough
Headmistress
