Peterhouse Girls – Newsletter 5 – Trinity 2023

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Happy fixture free and happy Africa Day. Aren’t we so blessed to live on this incredible continent? It has been unseasonably warm throughout the country and we aren’t complaining one bit! I hope you have all taken the time to enjoy the extra days of warmth before winter arrives in full force.

We welcomed back the teams who represented our school in two very successful tours: our hockey girls travelled to South Africa and our music girls travelled all the way to the United States. Well done girls!

We held the Kidzcan fun run over the closed weekend and it was very well supported. Thank you to all the families who came out to support the school in our effort to do more for the outer community, in this case, raising money for the treatment of children with cancer. This is the fourteenth year that we have supported this very worthy cause.

Peterhouse Girls has been a flurry of activity in the first three weeks, and the girls have been busy in the classroom, on the sports field, and with all sorts of cultural activities. Notably on the cultural front has been the preparation for the Buckland Arts Competition which starts next week. Buckland Arts is an opportunity for the houses to compete and for the talent of girls to be represented across a range of the arts, from flower arranging to public speaking. I look forward to seeing what the girls produce!

We have exams coming up for the B Block through to VIth Form. As always, preparation for this is vital and I encourage the girls to take some time to open their books this weekend. In saying that, rest is an important part of growth too, and I hope this long weekend gives everyone a chance to rest, recoup and return ready to work hard and play hard at school!

We thank Jesus for what He has done and what He will continue to do this term.

Warmest regards,

Mrs Claire Hough
